The Final Blood Moon of 2014-15 Tetrad
by Betsy Peerless

The current tetrad cycle closes with the Super Moon and total Lunar eclipse on 27th Sep. 10.50pm EDT/ Sep. 28th 2.50 am UTC. When the Earth eclipses a full Moon, it blocks the sunlight, but the sun’s rays still light up the moon. This light, however, has travelled through the Earth’s atmosphere first, and sometimes causes the totally eclipsed Moon to look red or brownish. On this night the color red is highly symbolic and ubiquitous. The Moons position in the sign of Aries the warrior mirrors the vivid red of so many oppositions and T squares of the planetary alignments up in the heavens above. Red being the color of the womb, of sacrifice, battle, leadership and the color of danger, passion, love, hunger, ambition and rage. Red is emotionally intense. It stimulates human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure and it has high visibility. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and relates to the first chakra – the red root chakra that rules the sacral pelvic area. It’s energy activates for our survival and turns on our fight or flight mechanism. It motivates us into action but can easily become blocked and shut down with fear.

This eclipse of the moon temporarily distinguishes our night light. The seedlings grown from the beginning of the current lunar cycle representing our greatest life projects will be enveloped in the darkness. When the light and our vision return these seedlings will need nourishment and our nurturance. If in the dark we get lost and lose sight of our goal then these seedlings will be left to waste before gaining the strength to flourish and retain them selves. Jupiter now in the diligent sign of Virgo recognizes our integrity to finish what has been started and grants us a whole year to work meticulously on our life’s greatest work for huge growth and expansion. At the same time Saturn in Sagittarius has us set up for going the distance for the long term.

Fire and Water

The Moon in Aries melds both masculine and feminine energy in the initiatory fire and the tidal surge of water. Ares the God of War and Artemis the Goddess of the Hunt are collaborating on matters of survival and independence. In the sign of the warrior the huntress asserts her feelings, becomes impassioned, impulsive, aggressive, forceful; she is pioneering and self- reliant and engages in great courageous feats. Opposing is the Sun conjunct Mercury R and the North Node in Libra all with the mission for co-creation through partnership – you and me together, rather than just me all on my own. Both sides create a T square with Pluto by extending the tension out to this focal point. It asks of us to let go of the control and the inner power struggle and find a new way of being that brings our conscious awareness to the fairness and equality of collaborating with another as opposed to just fending for oneself out of the old primal instinct. With this T square in the sky the tension between how we feel comfortable in going it alone versus taking the risks of partnering with another is in dire need of restructuring. The fear of not getting our own way, or not receiving recognition or the acclaim for our input is holding us back.

The North node has been in the sign of partnership –Libra- since February 2014 just before the tetrad commenced and remains there until November 2015 just after the tetrad completes. So these two significant cycles coinciding together highlight the focus for us collectively to come together to create a balance in partnership without competition or for purely self -gain. Libra ruled by Athena the Goddess of War is represented too by Themis the Titan Goddess of Justice. Themis carries a torch that illuminates the evidence, a sword symbolizing the sharpness of reason that must cut to and evaluate the evidence, and the scales that weigh the evidence against

the applicable laws. The North Node directs us forward with a future orientation towards harmonious partnership and collaboration based on equality, diplomacy and fairness.

Mars is the natural ruler of Aries and he is currently conjunct expansive Jupiter, opposing watery, nebulous Neptune in Pisces with both aspects in a T Square with Saturn in Sagittarius. While the sacred masculine is overly invested in analytical thinking and organization he neglects the amorphous experience of life –the abstract, the mystery, and the unification with others and all of existence. Mars also opposing Chiron in Pisces reveals that the gateway to healing his old wounds is through spiritual unification and embracing an unstructured fluid way of being. Saturn is also his taskmaster and demands he finds the truth out in the world and apply that to his conquests. While Mars is in Virgo he is being called to take care of himself physically, and organize the details at work – and by taking the warrior stance he will be ruthlessly discriminating in management, in business and with money. Discrimination and criticism are employed to find better solutions but without widening and opening the visual field it can lack compassion and the ability to sense the feelings and beliefs of others. Tunnel vision with no horizon disconnects the sacred masculine from his immediate surroundings as well as the bigger picture with just the task at hand. This opposition challenges the sacred masculine to better understand the rifts generated by his ego through experiencing this dichotomy of thinking versus feeling, the fact versus fiction and the micro versus the macro. It is in everyone’s best interest that he learns from this teaching to strike a balance and succeeds in bridging the enormous gap he created.

The cosmos poses the question -whether ‘He’ can only be a warrior when martyring himself for a cause, for a country, for his family while doing battle to save others and himself, or can he be a brave heart of courage, strength and integrity too in times of peace and high productivity? Does he have to always be faced with his own mortality and his survival threatened before he can become a true warrior of the heart? Our sacred masculine needs healing but he’s still so attached to the material and what’s past, and trying to fix it with ways that are too outdated for Venus and her rising sisterhood. Trine Uranus but square Saturn the divine feminine is aligned with radical change and reformation yet she too must still be wary of getting too far ahead of herself, or just complacent from overcoming her recent tribulations that lead to her resurrection. She may need to step down from her throne and go out into the world offering forgiveness and compassion to those that are suffering in this transition, those that are still stumbling over the old hurdles and still haven’t found their way forward. Venus representing the divine feminine has been through the karmic centrifuge in her retrograde motion yet she has gained ground in matters regarding her self value and her promise to herself never again to give up her Queendom. Saturn offers no short cuts for the sacred lovers, or any leeway for Jupiter’s over indulgence in ever expanding material perfectionism. Slow makeovers are in order – diligent, discerning and aligned with authenticity.

It’s still a tricky time for relationship and not conducive for hasty decisions or sealing any important deals or negotiations. While Mercury is retrograde in Libra our thinking ability is impaired and we can feel very uncertain, conflicted between sides and struggling to find the middle ground. There’s a lot of second guessing oneself and indecisions about what stand to take in a relationship. The mind is so indecisive and debates every choice, every decision and goes back and forth in search of the right answer. Confusion reigns but there could be much resolve if communications take a deeper approach. It’s best to take the time to think things through thoroughly- to mull things over and view all sides and aspects to the equation before making any rash decisions or drastic changes. Change of course is inevitable. It is universal law. We can let things happen to us that force us to change, or we can be proactive and encourage change by placing ourselves in a conducive environment. By letting go of our fixed nature and our many habits and addictions we can encourage Pluto’s energy for transmutation. Neptune opposing Jupiter challenges us to give up illusions and work within the boundaries and functions of what is and what could be without deluding ourselves.

In the very nature of opposition we experience the extremes. We experience the reversal of a situation- 180 degree turnarounds and flip flopping back and forth. It’s a matter of right brain- feeling versus left brain- thinking, from the practical solutions of a dream project to complete disillusionment of a well- crafted design, and from our safe comfort zone of a project being our sole capacity to being faced with the personal jeopardy of partnering on joint collaborations. The inner dialogue right now is tense because there is so much push and pull up in the heavens. It’s a tight tug of war to get to the truth – to understand what’s truly real and what truly could work for the future.

With so many red lines drawn up in the sky and opponents facing off are we going to feel the tug of war inwardly with a battle against ourselves, or are we going to witness the power struggle outwardly in the world and through the collective? The very worse case scenario would be to see and feel all this tension and then back down and walkaway. In the best scenario this incredible tension creates the tautness to haul our own weight into the center of our crisis, and our indecision and come into full activation of our power. As we forge ahead to break historical ties and split from the past will we now manage to create something completely revolutionary, or will both sides just retreat back to their own camp? I guess it will be up to us. In a tug of war something or someone has to give- if not the rope pulled so tight shreds and breaks with everyone falling to the ground. Is this still a game about winners and losers- the oppressors and the oppressed? Are we still judging the saints over the sinners without compassion for human flaws? We can only secure our future if we cooperate on all angles and become peaceful diplomats in our families, amongst friends amongst communities, between nations, and in conjunction with Earth’s natural laws. Our peaceful inner diplomat is a negotiator a truth teller and a healer who understands that there are at least 2 sides to every situation between one and another, and that those 2 sides are ever present within the psyche, between the shadow and the ego, between the heart and the mind, between the masculine and feminine. This crisis for radical change and transformation truly starts from working on the innards and reconciling the duality within.

Duality will persist for as long as we keep the focus on the separate parts rather than viewing the whole. In an opposition we are faced with the assumption of different outcomes for choosing one way over the other. Often we sit on the fence unable to make up our mind, or decide one way at the expense of the other, and then force our self to live on that one side with the constant yearning for what could have been. In other words -the grass is greener scenario. It is true that we gain true perspective when we experience both sides of a situation. At the end of this tetrad the alignments are helping us understand that there is an overwhelming amount of things to consider for our future. There is a chance too that the greatest picture of all still isn’t conceivable, or has variables that haven’t yet come to light.

Imagine…a man in a lifeboat adrift on the ocean is searching for land wishing he could safely place both feet firmly on solid ground to secure his survival for the future with water, food, and shelter. Then let’s imagine that same man sustaining himself with water, food and shelter marooned instead on the distant shore viewing that boat on the horizon wishing he could be rescued, wishing he could escape the entrapment of an island for new horizons. The shoreline then symbolizes an opportunity between water and earth– an overlapping of energies that could inspire an alternate direction other than simply choosing land or sea. It is a meeting and a vantage point for the full scope of possibility. This possibility could completely alter our perception and harness the power to create a dimensional shift. At the end of this tetrad humanity is poised at a new threshold, readying itself to glimpse an alternate reality.

With a blood red moon and red crisscrosses etched into the heavens it’s like a cosmic sign for humanity saying stop, cancel, or just NO. In all truths we can’t eradicate the past completely not even in the event of a global catastrophe. The memory of what’s past lives on in the hearts and minds of those left behind. There is a memory too in our DNA of what’s been passed down from our ancestors alongside the memory imprints in the land and the waters that surround us. What’s past can but carry us forward through cell memory, through the karmic historical threads on this planet all encoded into the energetic matrix. I believe the cosmos is saying X marks the spot- make your way to the center and use this center as your launch pad to free yourself from the struggles and attachments of the past. Lift yourself up and carry yourself into your future aligned with others who understand the same truths. Abandonment is not the answer to freedom – healing the past and finding resolve is the only way to be free of the sufferings of the past. If you can stop the internal tug of war between the right and the wrong, the good and the bad, mine or yours, the fact versus the fiction, the past versus the future, the truth versus the lies, feelings versus thoughts, the material versus the spiritual- just let the inner conflicts dissolve and come back into the present in the now and remember who you are and what you came here to do -to be. Step into the light and open your heart to the possibility that you have the power to make a difference that you have the power to be the person you always thought you could be. This is a time for action- the Moon is blood red and Aries is the warrior; self- activation and self- realization is key. Those who have the consciousness awareness to make it into the center of struggle and strife will break free and lead the way – they will become the agents of healing and reformation and will reach out to assist those that have fallen behind.

Ganesh Lord of Wisdom

For a peaceful end to this tetrad and for the momentum of the renewal our focus must conjure more conscious awareness of self. The skills and wisdom we need are already within us- we must remember this about ourselves. This past year thanks to both Jupiter and Venus in Leo we have come to know and own our sovereignty and our true value. It’s important with this incoming energy to stay connected to the here and now and utilize community to discuss ideas, communicate and learn from others. The big projects are important but moving too fast and stepping over others heads could pose negative consequences. Nurture yourself and others – love and protect your family, partners and friends. Enjoy the fruits of the harvest together under the light of the Harvest Moon and pleasure the senses. Honor your roots and your feelings. Remember that your feelings are revealing your response to your environment and to those you connect with. Thankfully we are not solely a product of our feelings nor of our thoughts -we bring both together so that mind and heart are in good soul alignment to answer the calling of spirits quest. Each soul has come here on a mission – it’s time to fully engage in that mission if you haven’t already and be that light you wish to see out in the world. There is a big need at this time to stay grounded and calm- to carve out your niche on this earth with as little negative impact on others and this planet as possible. As the red flames scorch our innards it motivates us into action. This inner fire creates the necessary heat for transformation. It burns through all the debris that’s naturally fallen away so that we can resurrect our selves. The dimensional shift starts from within and it has begun. We are on the shore at the brink of discovery…

Karmic Soul Theme: align, center, initiate, activate, advance

Imagery: Ganesh is the Hindu God of wisdom, knowledge and new beginnings. He is known for his elephant head and governs the forces that propel the wheel of life. For some he removes obstacles and for others he places obstacles in their wake…this all depends on the integrity of the base and foundation

Karmic Collective Theme: resolve, unite, collaborate, envision, shift

p1298056474-3

Imagery: A flight of swallows weaves amorphous patterns and shapes in the sky. They use their physical attributes in unison with the elements and earths natural laws to create movement. They swarm together for migration and the collaborative feats of their flight changes the frequency around them, shifting stagnant energy and ushering in the new.
